Auckland to Rotorua (via Waitomo)
The first day of the tour and it was in at the deep end with me being on my own, and joining the tour, it was quite a surreal experience, and one when I probably felt most on my own and so far away from home (partly due to the fact that it was Sunday night at home). After introductions and the first rendition of 'Slice of Heaven' by Dave Dobbyn and the Herbs, we stopped off at Waitomo, home of the Glow-worm caves, but unfortunately most of the caves were shut due to flooding the previous week. I did what I could of the caves then went to Woodlyn Park Kiwi Culture Show.
