Nelson - Christchurch
On the afternoon of the day that I did the skydive, I tried out the more sedate activity of mountain biking. After cycling in the hills around Nelson for an hour or so the heat got the better of me and I decided to head for the beach. The following day it was off to Christchurch, but not with out a stop in Kaikoura to swim with Dusky Dolphins. After a quick lunch it was into a wetsuit, watch a safety video, on a bus, and then a boat to see the dolphins. Eventually seeing them it was all off the boat when the hooter went, then swim up to them, while waving your arms and making strange sounds to make yourself appear interesting to the dolphins so they would come up to you. The when they decided to swim off it was all back on the boat, then catch them up again before off the boat again. We were off the boat about five or six times but I only managed about three as the sea was really cold, and it was really tiring.
