Ulsan City Tour
This day out was one of the best that I had on my travels. Owen swapped his day off and was subsequently scammed out of having a day off the entire week that I was with him, so I decided to do one of the Ulsan City Tours, that left from the Taehwa Hotel. The tour cost 5,000 Won which worked out about �2.50 and was an absolute bargain. There was a bit of excitement in the beginning as the tour guide did not speak English, and neither did the bus driver. Fortunately there was a man on the tour with slightly better English than my Korean so he was able to give me the general gist of what was going on. First stop was the Hyundai Car Plant where we got taken into a museum of Hyundai cars, then in to watch a short presentation, which meant absolutely nothing to me, but the Korean representative spoke a little English and was very good looking (I didn't get her number, but imagine that conversation!). We got a tour of the production line and saw Hyundai's at various state of manufacture (all included in the �2.50).
Next it was off to Ulsan Hyanggyo and some very high, steep steps. When we got there the doors were locked and so had to use a side entrance. It is very old, but has been re-molded 26 times since 1800, probably due to storm damage. It had damage to it from a typhoon that struck last year. Next it was off to Ulsan Dongheon and Naea and also for lunch where my translator and his two children took me for galbi.
